CHUCK CORTRIGHT is an accomplished leader with over three decades of diversified high technology experience in the areas of executive management, business development, software development, product development and IP sales licensing. Both as the CEO of multiple companies, including one that he took from inception to successful IPO, and as a senior consultant, Cortright has a proven track record of developing partnerships and closing multi-million-dollar deals with leading technology, entertainment and music companies.
His contacts include many of the most prominent technology and entertainment executives, decision-makers and board members in the country. Cortright has established long-term personal relationships at the highest levels of companies such as Microsoft, Google, IBM, Adobe and others, as well with “A-list” music and entertainment individuals, including Bob Dylan, Prince, Willie Nelson, Santana, Bob Marley (Foundation), Herbie Hancock and others.
Cortright also led the formation, launch and development efforts of the Internet/Broadcast subsidiary of SRS Labs, successfully formulating the company’s strategic partnership with Microsoft and other leading content providers. This included an equity investment by Microsoft and a Technology IP License Agreement embedded SRS WOW audio technology into Microsoft’s Windows Media Player. Later, for another firm he founded, Cortright led the closing of a multi-million-dollar IP Patent Purchase Agreement with a major intellectual property investment company.
STEVE MASON has over 30 years’ experience as a technology executive and consultant in cloud-based and enterprise software, social media, electronic security, medical devices, clean technology, and consumer packaged goods. He exclusively works with CEOs, VCs, and high-level executives on key strategic and branding initiatives. He has particular expertise in corporate strategy, change management, positioning assets for sale and negotiating the sale, brand strategy, naming, positioning, corporate/product launches and marketing program execution. He was the chief negotiator and corporate spokesman in numerous deals, and he architected and executed a successful turnaround strategy for a software services firm.
Mason has been an integral part of teams that have raised over $100 million in venture capital and he has relationships not only with numerous CEOs, venture capitalists, private equity and angel investors, but also with some of the most prominent technology attorneys in Silicon Valley. Mason’s clients have ranged from IBM and advertising giant Ogilvy & Mather Direct to venture- and seed-funded startups.
Mason is a Generalist Mentor via The Cleantech Open (http://www.cleantechopen.com/) to clean technology startups; is a member of the Advisory Board of a startup; and is a founding member of a real estate valuation startup. He did graduate work in psychology at Harvard University and undergraduate work at Tufts University, double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is a frequent speaker on subjects including licensing models, negotiation of complex deals, direct marketing, e-commerce, Internet privacy and security, psychological typing, branding, naming and marketing. He has taught university-level courses in English Grammar (U. of California at Berkeley Extension) and Compiler Design (Northeastern University). Prior to college, he won numerous awards in mathematical competitions.
